When Should You Replace a MacBook Display?
If the display flickers, only works at certain angles, or has black spots, it’s likely that replacing the display is the only solution. Of course, if it’s visibly cracked, the need for replacement is clear. :)
SDisplays often get damaged when something is left on the keyboard and the lid is closed on it. In some cases, the damage may initially result in just a crack, and the fault may only become apparent days later when the event has been forgotten. A typical sign of this is horizontal bands above or below the affected area, flickering, or a blurry display.
A Damage to the flex cable beneath the black plastic strip below the MacBook display can also necessitate a replacement, as this part of the display is particularly vulnerable.
For newer models, it is necessary to solder the IC from the old display onto the new flex cable so the MacBook won’t give any errors with the new display. Naturally, this is part of our repair process.

Each display module consists of multiple elements: aluminum housing, LCD module with backlight, flex cables, and camera. To keep repairs cost-effective, reasonable compromises are necessary. This, of course, does not compromise the display resolution, but a slight difference in color temperature may occur. This will not pose an issue for most users, except for graphic designers where color accuracy is paramount.
