The most common issue with iPads is the cracking of the display caused by dropping them and in many instances, the back case gets deformed too, especially at the corners. If the LCD works and only the touch panel and cover glass are damaged, they can be replaced separately. We also repair if possible the damaged back case.

If the LCD is damaged, the iPad displays a flawed image or the display is all white or only the backlight turns on and there is no image. In this case, we only replace the LCD panel of the iPad 1.

If the back case got highly deformed because of dropping the iPad, replacing it becomes necessary. In this case, we rebuild the internal components in a new back case. If the damage is smaller, then usually we only need to repair the corners of the back case - which we do for free when we replace the touch panel. The repair requires serious repair experience, because all components have to be transferred precisely to the new case.

If the battery fails, the iPad can constantly restart while plugged in or the iOS won't load, or the device displays the charging sign, but the battery won't charge up. Another sign of battery issues is that the device turns off while in use or restarts constantly. The hypothesis that battery fault causes the issue can only be confirmed through diagnostic.

If the device only charges some of the time, or only when the cable is held in a few specific positions, or the iPad is muted because of liquid damage, the dock connector could be faulty, which we replace if that's what causes the problems.

If the home button intermittently - or doesn't at all - reacts to pushing it down, or if you have to push really hard for it to have any effect, the home button is likely faulty. If the button moves from it's position and falls behind the surface of the glass, it has to be replaced.

If it's hard to turn on the device, or the power button doesn't react at all, it needs to be replaced. Another sign of problems could be that the smart cover doesn't put the iPad to sleep after it's closed.

This can be caused by dropping the iPad, liquid damage or if dust fills up the speaker grills and acoustic passages. In the latter case only they need to be replaced, which costs HUF 4.000.

If during skype calls the caller doesn't hear us and software issues have been ruled out (we gave permission for the app to use the microphone), then that can point towards the failure of the microphone, which has to be replaced.

If some iOS functions don't work properly, the system slows down, discharges faster, doesn't connect to the internet - all these can be caused by software problems. Updating to the latest iOS can usually solve these (for technical reasons, going back to previous iPad software versions is not possible).

Before updating to the latest iOS version, we backup your data and then we restore it to the updated device. This is only possible if your device is still functional or turns on after repairs. If the user requires it, we can save some data types to external storage.

Ultrasonic cleaning is required after liquid damage to avoid the corrosion of the logic board and therefore irreversible damage. We clean out the connectors and we resolder them, if necessary. Usually the battery also has to be replaced after liquid damage.

The charge regulator chip is faulty if the device discharges too fast and the battery runs out of charge in a few hours, or if the iPad doesn't charge while plugged in and won't turn on after running out of charge. This can be caused by bad quality charge adapters or cables.

If the touch screen freezes up regularly or starts to generate false inputs automatically, or doesn't sense touch in some areas, the logic board touch controller has to be replaced. This fault could develop because of mechanical or liquid damage.

The proper functioning of the whole iPad 1 depends on the power regulator chip, which controls the power and charging systems, the display backlight and giving power to the CPU and GPU. Because of the variety of issues that could be caused by the failure of the power regulator chip - for example the iPad can't be turned on, it gets abnormally warm or the touch screen doesn't work - it has to be properly diagnosed before repair.

The backlight controller usually develops a fault because of overloading after liquid damage. Damage to the logic board during inexperienced repair could cause issues as well.

If the iPad doesn't see any Wi-Fi network, or the Wi-Fi signal is extremely weak or if it refuses to connect to any network, or if the Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth options go grey in the Settings app, the Wi-Fi chip on the logic board could be faulty.

If the sound coming out of the speakers is broken up, distorted or if it the volume is too low - and software issues have been ruled out, the audio chip could be faulty. Like all logic board repairs, replacing the audio chip has to be done extremely carefully.

A badly inserted SIM card or a bad quality SIM adapter can cause problems, which result in the iPad not or not always recognising the SIM card. In these cases the SIM controller on the logic board has to be repaired.

The logic board connectors are very sensitive, so badly trained repair personnel, liquid damage or dropping damage can impair them. Repairing them requires serious preparedness and experience, so it's important to take our device to the appropriate repair center.

These repairs are necessary if the device underwent liquid damage or non-trained personnel tried to repair the device previously and damaged the logic board.
